The 76,000 square foot Kent Station 4 is the newest building located in the life style center of downtown Kent, Washington. Green River Community College is located on the second and third floors in order to provide the community with an extension branch of the college’s main campus.
Sustainable strategies were incorporated throughout the space to provide a healthy environment for students and faculty. The classrooms and offices were designed to take advantage of large expanses of windows and provide natural daylight into the classrooms. The project also includes low flow water fixtures and materials with low or no VOC’s. Over 96% of the construction debris on the project was recycled. Green River Community College is currently pursuing LEED certification for Commercial Interiors.
